COLLEGE FOOTBALL - WEEK 13

COLLEGE FOOTBALL - WEEK 13

Another week, more top teams falling!  Sorry bout it Miami, that’s what you get for crushing the dreams of God’s team.  The U still has a bath to the final four if they beat Clemson…assuming Clemson beats South Carolina today.  Who knew South Carolina was ranked?  Crazy season.

The path to the final four is pretty clear at this point for most teams, just don’t lose again (or at all, if you’re Wisconsin).  Winner of the ACC is in, winner of the Big 12 if it’s Oklahoma is in, winner of the Big 10 might be in, but that’s where it gets tricky.  If Bama wins out, they are in, same for Georgia.  If Bama loses a tight one at Auburn today, then Georgia wins the SEC title game, they are BOTH likely in, and the Big 12 winner is out (unless Ohio State beats Wisconsin, which most people think they will).  As TOB reported earlier, crazy season.

As per usual, Mike Leach has a hot take on something, and in this case, it hits TOB close to home:

About four months into the engagement, TOB has to say he is spot on.

Another sweet moment this past week was the saxophonist before the Lions/Vikings game.  That guy killed it!  Not sure what his name is, but know this buddy, TOB is looking for someone who can hit those notes on Careless Whisper at the end of May in Las Vegas.  You’re on our radar…

Gotta be quick this week, TOB was out too late last night, and yoga starts in about 20 minutes.  You know what the big games are, let’s just get to the picks!  No picks last week, TOB was in Nashville for cousin Chris’s bachelor party.  Hard to believe he tricked someone into marrying him so quickly, nice work Ccccccchris.  Also hard to believe how bad ND was beaten by Miami, TOB needed a week off for emotional reasons.

Now for the segment that Vegas is trying to get TOB to stop running, Tony and Cheech make picks sure to go wrong!

Last weeks’ results:

Cheech (28-20-2) – 4-1 allegedly, he did email picks to TOB, but we cannot verify at this time.

TOB (15-29-1):  No picks, busy crushing Top Golf

This week:

Cheech:

Writing this from my cell phone because apparently it takes Windows 2 hours to install updates on my practically new laptop. So this week's picks might have an unusually high number of typos/ auto-corrects and will definitely have a lower amount of "research".

UK (+10.5) over Louisville, because I used to live in Lexington.

Ohio State (-12) over Michigan, because I live in Ann Arbor.

Indiana (+2.5) over Purdue, because I used to live in Indiana.

Rice (+12.5) over North Texas, because I was born in Houston.

Clemson (-13) over South Carolina, because I lived in South Carolina for a summer.

TOB:

Georgia Tech (+11.5) over Georgia – Tech always keeps it close by running that damn triple option.  No fun to watch, but they limit possessions and wear you down.

Ohio State (-13) over Michigan – Michigan isn’t very good, they have simply beaten some bad teams.  Ohio State is on a mission to force the committee to put them back in the mix if they win out.

Memphis (-29.5) over East Carolina – No idea about this game, just shocked that Memphis is ranked 20th!  What is the world coming to?!

Alabama (-5) over Auburn – Emotional letdown game for Auburn.  Bama is angry for who knows why (I’m sure Saban is frustrated with a 60 point win over Mercer last week).  Bama wins this then rolls Georgia in the SEC Title game.

Minnesota (+17.5) over Wisconsin – Wisconsin has been 3 score favorites in all but 2 games this season (is what my off the top of my head research department just told me), but they’ve only covered 3 times (same department).  Take the points and watch Wisconsin lead the whole game by 7-10 points then pull away at the end to win by exactly 17.

Gonna be a tough one for the Irish out in Northern California.  Win this and the Irish are likely headed to a prime BCS bowl (if they still call them that).  Unfortunately, it may end up being against someone like Ohio State or Auburn.  How about a nice New Years Day bowl against someone like Washington?  Yeah, I like that.

GO IRISH!
