Welcome Home
And we are back! Have no fear, Claude was fired for putting up a bum link to Facebook as well as an expired link in the article…If you believe TOB uses AI and didn’t just rush last week’s article to print as children and a wife were yelling about being late to a birthday party or soccer practice or something (I wasn’t really paying attention), then you don’t know this fossil.
In spite of said birthday parties, soccer practice, etc., TOB was able to consume quite of CFB last week, and you’re going to hear about it!
· Brent Venables may be looking for a job along with Dabo before too long. John Mateer is doo doo, and their season may be headed for disaster. Michigan is also not good. Congrats on your 2-0.
· Arch Manning had a game that seems to reflect his young career. Lot’s of downs, a few ups, a little prickly to outsiders. See you back in Austin in 2027 Arch.
· Ohio State is likely still the best team in the country. One point loss on the road, blew the lead by changing their offense entirely. If Day didn’t have a title in his back pocket, I would think differently
· Oregon – woof
· Iowa defeated Iowa State to win what TOB assumed sarcastically was some sort of corn stalk. How wrong was I? It’s something called a “Cy-Hawk Trophy,” and yes, it allegedly features a corn cob or two.
Enough analysis, on to misc. predictions! But first, general nonsense and thoughts from the last year:

Home girl can’t wait for the kids to get out of the house so she can just stock that house with cats. Copy and paste the link, Squarespace will not let me link to ads any longer (thanks Obama).
Due to a recent change in how they are viewed, TOB hasn’t been able to watch Cardinals baseball games this season. A shame, they seemed like a fun team that finally let the young guys take over the team. TOB was just preparing for the lockout / strike of 2027. Good luck baseball, it was a hell of a ride since the last labor stoppage.
Why do we only describe age as “early,” “mid,” or “late”? For example, I’m in my early 40’s (42). Can I say that about my height? Yeah, I’m in the late 60’s. How about the temperature? Man, it’s early 90’s around here, I’ve itching for some Soundgarden. Distance – how far is your office from home…early 20’s. That’s probably enough examples. Do with it what you will.
TOB hates it when Rom-Coms are described as a real “fish out of water” story. You want to see a fish out of water, go back to my early 90’s comment and check out Free Willy. That son of a bitch could jump!
Week 3 Predictions
· Texas Tech is overrated and will likely just sneak by Houston. Wait, what, this game happened last night? So much for all of that NIL money Tech, that was a pretty poor showing.
· Sameses for Miami
· Good for you Oregon, hope that felt good. Beating some directional state school by 84 points won’t bring on bad karma or anything. TOB will be rooting against Oregon for the foreseeable future for that bullshit.
· Indiana is a cool 45 point favorite again over Western Kentucky. Way to go Cignetti, turn down that home and home with ND so you can be a near 50 point favorite for most of the season. Maybe IU would be interested in having Cheech’s alma mater University of Maryland University College visit Bloomington next season. ND started this year with Wisconsin and Michigan State – no longer Big 10 powers, but far from directional schools.
· SMU / Louisville – No real interest in this game outside of rooting for Louisville to improve Ole Miss’s strength of schedule. Go Cards
And now for our feature presentation, LSU traveling to Oxford so Lane Kiffin can be welcomed back to a place he helped put in the College Football Playoff and really laid the foundation for future success. Wait, what, they hate him? He took another job before the last season ended and was a total prick about it? That’s not the Lane Kiffin I know…
Unfortunately, Ole Miss may not quite have the team of last year (though Chambliss looks better than ever and likely has moved into a top 10 draft pick) and LSU looks nasty. Best hope for Ole Miss is Lane tries to make a statement and gets a little “tight” late in the game. This may be a rough night in Oxford for rebel fans (TOB’s special lady will be in attendance, can’t wait to hear about how gross the LSU fans are – “They smell like corndogs”). When will people learn that apathy is the most insulting emotion.
Go Rebs, go Irish!
