The Week before The Week
TOB is reporting live for the biggest game of the year! Maybe the biggest game of the week? In the SEC? Well, let’s just say it’s a big game, and there will be sun dresses galore…
Maybe it’s the coming winter, or our kiddos getting older, but TOB’s lady has been getting quite nostalgic lately. She is longing for the days when people would offer her a “spot of tea.” When this actually happened, TOB has no idea (LOB has lived in Springfield, IL, Oxford, MS, and St. Louis, MO). Perhaps she has been watching too much Harry Potter…perhaps it has to do with her “retention span.”
Terrible commercial combo alert: The Hyundai and simultaneous Volkswagon pitches where they are positing that these are luxury vehicles beyond comprehension. TOB drove a VW turbo diesel years back. Great car, got 60 miles per gallon until that pesky EPA came around and made VW adjust their emissions (Thanks RFK, Jr.). At no point, in the 3.5 years of owning that car did anyone think that TOB had won the lottery, came into some inheritance, or went into massive debt to acquire said VW. Hyundai seems to be targeting a different demographic.

Random baseball notes from an above average World Series:
· Yamamoto for life. He will officially be on TOB’s radar to watch anytime he pitches.
· TOB stands by the Vlady Jr over Ohtani take from last week. TOB would gladly take either, but prefer the consistency of Vlad Jr.
· Can’t wait for MLB to blow all of this positive momentum and go on strike after next season. Yay!
LSU firing Brian Kelly AND trying to claim it was for “just cause” to get out of his buyout is delightful. Be careful what you wish for Cajuns, Auburn has been on this wheel for over a dozen years now. You don’t want to end up floating adrift looking for Old Gregg:

Alright, let’s make an assessment!
In lieu of the Top 10 we will focus on an incredible slate of games (well, mostly out of the SEC).
· South Carolina at A&M: TAM needs to avoid this trap to cement their spot in the SEC Championship game and knock Texas out of the playoff next week
· ND at Pitt: “Run the Table” and go down to Oxford for a road playoff game. Go Irish!
· Oklahoma at Bama: Revenge game. Much better Bama team, this knocks OU officially out of the playoff. Side note, Ty Simpson is a white guy???
· Iowa at USC: Holy crap, a ranked Big 10 match-up! Wait, neither one of these teams even have a shot at the playoff…still a fun game
· Florida at Ole Miss: TOB is on site! Legit the biggest game in Ole Miss history. A win here and they go to the playoff. A few other things break right and they could be in the SEC Title game (unlikely, but possible). The Florida folks are already in Oxford with their T-shirts that say, “We are just here to see our new coach.” A little contentious here in the dirty south.
· Texas at Georgia: Possible double revenge game. Arch has made some strides as the season has gone on, and Georgia isn’t quite the same team as last year. Upset alert!
TOB is loving the bi-weekly format, feels sustainable and TOB’s slightly moderately interesting life produces just enough content for two articles per month.
