COLLEGE FOOTBALL – ITS BACK!!!

COLLEGE FOOTBALL – ITS BACK!!!

Tonyonball has paid very little attention to preseason hype.  That will make watching these first week games very exciting.  However, it may not be the best strategy when preparing to write an article outlining the early College Football season.  Oh well, most TOB readers are aware of the format (opinions first, facts if you have time)…

Cheech and Tony are back picking games.  If you recall we had a ridiculous .724 winning percentage last year (Editors note:  .425).  Either way, we are at it again, short us if you would like to make some money.

Cheech:

Michigan -4.5 over Florida, because the gators are missing dudes and I've had to listen to the Michigan hype machine all summer, so they better win big.

Western Michigan +26.5 over USC, because I drove through Kalamazoo the other day.

Georgia Tech +3 over Tennessee, because I heard the SEC was overrated.

UCLA - 3.5 over Texas A&M, because why not? Is Snoop Dogg's kid playing for the Bruins?

Marshall - 2.5 over Miami OH, because my brother in law said Miami lost their only good player from last season.

TOB:

Texas -19 over Maryland – Maryland is not great at football (or much of anything these days).  Texas will be all fired up for a bounce back season, plus if one state didn’t need more state pride, Texas just acquired more this past week.  Way to go Harvey.

Illinois -7 over Ball State – TOB will be at a BBQ with many Illini fans.  May as well make a pick since I will be forced into watching most of this shit show.  Shout out to Lovie Smith, and Mark Ragon.

Ole Miss -24 over Southern Alabama – In usual Ole Miss fashion, they will start the year 6-0, creating a bunch of undeserved hype only to go 4-4 in the SEC.  Nice.

UCLA -3.5 over Texas A&M – A&M has been on a yearly decline, that coach seems to have his eyes elsewhere.  May be a rough year for the Aggies.

FSU +7.5 over Alabama – TOB believes Bama will win, but not by that much.  Possible playoff match up in January.

As previously stated, TOB is seeing his first CFB hype this morning during Gameday.  Good to see Herby, Corso (kind of), Desmond, and Fowler back in action.  They now have some guy they keep referring to as “Bear” who is making gambling picks.  He just sits on his laptop looking up stats and shouting out who he thinks will cover in random games.  Cheech, how do we get that job?!

SEC will be tough again this year, if a little top heavy.  Big 10 will take a step back, they overachieved last year (though Ohio State is the real deal.  On that note, how in the world does J.T. Barrett still have eligibility, isn’t he older than me?).  Big 12 is the Big 12, OU will run through it until the OU/OSU game which will probably determine the league winner (sorry Shane Lutchel, KSU isn’t that good).  USC may be one of the best teams by years end, that QB is getting the most hype TOB can remember since Matt Barkley, I mean Matt Leinhart, um, maybe that’s not so good…

Mizzou and Illinois will probably be terrible again.  Mizzou needs 7 wins to be respectable, since their out of conference schedule is GARBAGE.  Illinois is still in a rebuild, Lovie probably has another year or two before he’s on the hot seat.

Apparently Brian Kelly started doing yoga this offseason, so all of Notre Dames troubles are solved!  Just switch to organic and grow a beard you hippy!  (Editor’s note:  TOB is a big fan of yoga).

Glad to have college football back in our lives, also glad to turn over my shoulder and see Missouri State take a 14-13 lead on Mizzou halfway through the first quarter.  How’s that defense Barry??
