COLLEGE FOOTBALL – BOWLING PART 3! – 2k18

COLLEGE FOOTBALL – BOWLING PART 3! – 2k18

It’s all led up to this.  Now watch as TOB set’s himself up to be upset and possibly end up sleeping on the couch after a temper tantrum fit for a 2 year old in T minus 10 hours….

TOB has been keeping expectations low, reminding himself and others that ND has had a fine season, but is no match for the likes of Alabama (maybe there will be some sort of accident and Alabama forgets to show up to the title game…maybe they will lose to Oklahoma…maybe).  However, Notre Dame doesn’t play Alabama today, they play that hillbilly led squad from South Carolina (by all accounts Dabo Sweeny seems to be a fine man, letting kids out of scholarships to go play for another school is unheard of in D1 football.  It shouldn’t be, but it is, cheers to you Dabo).  I see you Dabo, faking humility while peddling PED’s to your players (these allegations are unconfirmed and essentially sour grapes by the part of TOB’s mind that will rationalize anything).  ND as a 12.5 point underdog even with Clemson missing a critical defensive lineman and two other key players (they probably have about ten players behind that guy that would start for 99% of D1 programs)?  This is crazy, forget the points, ND is the better team (unlikely), they beat common opponents by more points (some truth to this), they have been hearing for too long about how Clemson will run them off the field (certainly possible), they are ready for this!  This will be Brian Kelly’s last achievement as ND’s head coach before he rides off into the sunset (takes a shitty NFL job…Arizona, Cleveland, Jacksonville, etc.).

Shout out to Robert the Cheech, turned a cool 35 yesterday (don’t worry, Bobby, you don’t look a day over 46).  Perhaps the Irish could give him a belated birthday present?!?  No funny commercials today, we are all business…well, besides this birthday tribute to Bobby:

Just kidding, Google knocked it out of the park this year:

While writing this article, TOB’s lady came over and insisted TOB watch this video.  You’re welcome…I guess:

Well, it couldn’t last forever, our friend “Bart” had a rough beat yesterday.  Purdue on the moneyline at +160 seemed like such a good bet…until they were losing 56-7 at halftime.  Still on a hell of a run, invested $50 and up to nearly $1,500.  Keep those good vibes going (perhaps ND outright at +310 would get some of that $$$ back).

All the following games occur between 12/28 and 1/3.

Celebrity Guest Sarah’s picks first (10-9 so far…Great bounce back!):

Picks to follow, TOB had to post early due to a Christmas party…

Robert the Cheech’s picks (11-11 so far…even Steven):

South Carolina (-4) over Virginia

Michigan (-7.5) over Florida…. I’m sick of this game, these clowns get matched up every year.

Arkansas State (-1.5) over Nevada

Notre Dame (+11) over Clemson…. Go Irish!

Oklahoma (+14) over Alabama…. Go anyone but bama!

Cincinnati (-5) over Va Tech

Pitt (+6.5) over Stanford

Oregon (-3) over MSU

Oklahoma State (+7.5) over Mizzou

Northwestern (+6.5) over Utah… this point spread seems backwards

Texas A&M (-4.5) over NC State

Mississippi State (-6.5) over Iowa

UCF (+7.5) over LSU… Big time!

Penn State (-6) over Kentucky

Ohio State (-6.5) over Washington

Georgia (-10.5) over Texas…. Horns down!

TOB’s revisited picks (13-9 so far…that’s why I’m the CEO):

outh Carolina (-4) over Virginia – Always take the SEC over the ACC.  Always, well, unless you don’t

Florida (+7.5) over Michigan – Too many points.  Florida seemed to be under the radar all year, Michigan seemed to be overhyped, yet they ended up with nearly the same season when it was all said and done.  Close game, Michigan wins by 3 or 4

Arkansas State (-1.5) over Nevada – Did not know Arkansas State was D1

Notre Dame (+11) over Clemson – Line has moved to 12.5.  This is absurd!  Take ND outright, they can win this game!

Oklahoma (+14) over Alabama – Take the points.  Could be 50-45 when it is said and done.  Game of the year potential.  Kyler…go to the NFL, QB’s don’t get hit anymore, you can make $50M right away.  20 years ago this wouldn’t be a discussion, but the NFL has made it more attractive to be a quarterback for the Browns than to be a centerfielder for the Oakland A’s.

Cincinnati (-5) over Va Tech – Aren’t these teams in the same conference?  What the hell is going on these days?

Stanford (-6.5) over Pitt – Perhaps Brian Shaw should have taken an NFL job when it was available a few years ago…Stanford has certainly fallen back to the pack.  How will those poor Stanford students get by with a mediocre football team?  Oh yeah, by raping people behind dumpsters and getting away with it.

Oregon (-3) over MSU – QB coming back for his senior year, MSU in a down year, Oregon to run all over Sparty.

Oklahoma State (+7.5) over Mizzou – Too many points for this classic Big 12 showdown.  Shout out to Seth Fagan for letting us watch at his house prior to the NYE festivities.  Sorry in advance for constantly mentioning the blog, not sorry for asking for your brother’s recommendation.

Utah (-6.5) over Northwestern – I think Utah is good.  I do not think Northwestern is, despite playing some close games against good teams (ND, Michigan, Ohio State).  They seem to be the team that plays to their competition level, but can’t close the deal.

Texas A&M (-4.5) over NC State – Shout out to Brian Battle – see you in a week, get those clubs ready, TOB wants can’t wait to get out on the course again!

Mississippi State (-6.5) over Iowa – Is Dak still there?  Dan Mullens?  Nick Mullen?  Whatever, Iowa sucks.

UCF (+7.5) over LSU – Too many points.  Shout out to Lindsay Battle, but UCF is far more motivated than LSU.  They think they are the defending National Champs, and in an effort to defend their title, they get to play in the Fiesta Bowl against the third best SEC team (maybe).  Should UCF win this game, they will have proven for two years in a row that they are as good as the third or fourth best team in the SEC.  That’s not a bad place to be (Mizzou would kill for that), but it is certainly not a National Championship.  Shut up, get out.

Penn State (-6) over Kentucky – Kentucky had a nice season.  I guess.  Penn State is high ceiling low floor, they will either win or lose by 20.

Ohio State (-6.5) over Washington – Urban stepping away is as predictable as TOB getting into holiday trouble after having a few too many cocktails around the in-laws.  See you in two years on the west coast you dick.

Texas (+10.5) over Georgia – Too many points, Georgia is already having players sit out due to NFL draft workouts.

Next week, we discuss whether or not TOB should put his marriage in jeopardy by going to the National Championship game to watch ND lose by 40!

GO IRISH!
